Leave types
Under Leave settings, the Indian standard template creates the usual types in one click. Each type sets whether it is paid, its colour, half-day and quarter-day options, or an hourly unit (hourly types must be paid).
Credit and carry-forward
- Credit yearly, quarterly, monthly or on approval; prorated from joining; optionally only after a number of days of service. Accrual stops at the last working day.
- Carry forward all, a limit or a percentage, with a total cap and an expiry in months.
- Allow a negative balance, or fall back to unpaid leave (LOP) when the balance runs out.
Request rules
- Minimum and maximum days per request, notice days, backdating, how far ahead, and a monthly maximum.
- Sandwich rule: weekends and holidays between leave days are charged, even across two separate requests.
- A document or note required after a number of days.
- Types that cannot be clubbed together (same day or next working day either side).
- Eligibility by employment type, location, department, gender, marital status, grade and probation (confirmed staff only).
Policies
A policy is a set of leave types with their entitlements. Assign policies to groups by location, department, employment type, grade or designation, with dates they apply from and to. Changing a policy's leave year (calendar ↔ financial year) moves everyone's balance across; it is refused while anybody has a pending request.
